Work With Raising Mothers!

Calling all readers, writers, artists, and literary enthusiasts: WE’RE HIRING!

Raising Mothers is currently looking to add some dynamic new members to our team! If you or someone you know is Black, Latine(x), Asian, Indigenous and/or a person of color that is also disabled, LGBTQIA2S+ and you are passionate about sharing parenting stories of the global majority, APPLY TODAY.

Send samples/portfolio link, resume and cover letter letting us know how you’d contribute to Raising Mothers.

email us at:  HELLO (AT) RAISINGMOTHERS (DOT) COM

Note: this is VOLUNTARY. We all work incredibly hard to produce this amazing work. We are also completely remote. EIC lives in Europe and most everyone else is stateside.

Artists
Create visuals for each published quarterly issue and/or dedicated illustrations for columns. This is open to various styles of artists as we are looking to have a roster, instead of one exclusive artist.

Comics Editor
Pitch, solicit and edit comics either in column format or for our issues. Ideally has prior experience. Has a good comic/graphic narrative network of artists of color. Would love variety and to showcase people from around the world.

Columns Editor
Pitch, solicit and edit columns for the site that are published year round. Responsible for a small roster of columns that are published on a monthly or weekly schedule. Ideally two people can be co-editors.

Reviews Editor
Pitch, solicit and edit book reviews from Black, Asian, Latine(x), Indigenous and other femme, women or nonbinary writers on the topics of parenthood or are parent writers who openly discuss that. Can also have long form interviews discussing the published work.

Social Media & Marketing Director
Will work with EIC to shape our media and help bring in suitable collaborations. Will also help with building out RM Society.

Programs Director
Help create and run paid and free virtual events for Raising Mothers. Time commitment will be heavier to start until we’re up and running. Will also have a hand in running our classes (to be offered in 2022). Previous experience is a requirement.

Apply before 3/15.

Time commitment varies from a few hours a week to a few hours a month. Strong communication skills are required.
